What is Recovery Coaching?

Eating disorder recovery is hard - it looks different for everyone. There is no one way to “recover.” While we specialize in the nutrition piece of eating disorder recovery, we are also proud to offer Recovery Coaching.

A recovery coach is able to offer the perspective of someone who has lived through an eating disorder and provides a nonjudgemental space to meet you where you are at. Recovery coaching can help recovery feel less isolating through support and connection.

A recovery coach can assist with meal support, sharing lived experience, help with navigating challenging situations, and ultimately offers a safe space to discuss challenges and success of recovery.

Every session with a recovery coach can and will look different depending on what you are needing. Some sessions make work on specific skill building, but other sessions may be a safe place to express emotions with someone who has been through a similar situation.

A little more about Alli

Alli holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Seattle University, Bachelor’s of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Arizona, and is currently completing her combined Master’s in Nutrition/Dietetic Internship in San Diego.

Alli has both lived and professional experience working with those going through eating disorder recovery. When reflecting back on her own journey towards recovery, she found it isolating and wishes she had someone to support her outside of traditional treatment. While pursuing higher education to help those struggling with an eating disorder, Alli found she was able to share her own lived experience as a meaningful and unique support through the journey. Alli strengths lie in her non-judgemental and empathetic listening.

Alli was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, moved to the Pacific Northwest during her undergrad career, and is happy to finally call sunny San Diego home. When not planning her next travel adventure, Alli loves to spend time outside with her golden retriever named Hank, trying the newest restaurant, or cooking at home with her partner.
