Why is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist more qualified?

A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or just Registered Dietitian (RD) is the only medically recognized nutrition expert who is qualified to deliver medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling. They must receive a bachelor's degree, complete an accredited supervised practice program (dietetic internship), pass a national exam, and maintain professional educational requirements to keep their license active.

What is a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian (CEDRD)?

The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (Iaedp) established the certification process to promote standards of excellence within the field of eating disorders. Professionals seeking certification must demonstrate clinical expertise through education, experience, and a rigorous examination. Additionally, a minimum number of qualifying work hours, commitment to continuing education, and compliance with the Association's ethical principles are required for certification. CEDRDs have completed these requirements in addition to those required by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for Registration.

What is the CSSD credential?

The Board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) credential is the premier professional sports nutrition credential in the United States. CSSDs are registered dietitians who provide safe, effective, evidence-based nutrition services for health, fitness, and athletic performance. The CSSD was developed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the nation's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. CDR is an organizational member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance.
