Kate Machado, MS, RDN

I am a Nutrition Therapist who helps individuals, families, and groups learn to have better relationships with food and their bodies. I have worked with hundreds of individuals, athletes, teams, and families over the past 14 years in practice in California.

After receiving my B.S. in Nutritional Science at UC Berkeley, and my M.S. in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition as well as my Dietetic Internship at Cal State Long Beach, I began working in Eating Disorder treatment centers at all levels of care. I loved the collaborative team approach I learned from working at Residential Treatment, PHP, IOP, and Transitional Living Facility for those with Eating Disorders.

My expertise is Sports Nutrition was honed when working at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista and when supporting the San Diego Firefighters. I have been the University of San Diego (USD) Sport Dietitian for the past 6 years helping all 17 of the athletic teams.

After completing doctorate courses in Public Health, Health Behavior at UCSD and SDSU, I worked in cancer treatment, diabetes research, and public health research.

Throughout my career, I have maintained a private practice where I currently split my time between here and USD.

I love food and love to eat. I believe a healthy relationship with food and your body is essential to enjoying life. And I believe it is possible for everyone.
